Bay Cities FC announced they are participating in the National Independent Soccer Association sanctioned Independent Cup, starting in early July. Their group includes Cal Victory FC (a UPSL club from Rohnert Park), PDX FC (Portland, USL League Two), and Space United FC (Tukwila, WA). The league is calling the competition the largest interleague tournament of the year and will consists of fifty-four games played over four weeks.
Bay Cities FC will join NISA, a third-division pro league, in 2022. The club will play its home games at the 3,500 seat capacity stadium at Sequoia High School in downtown Redwood City.
