It took a couple of months, but the San Jose Earthquakes traveled to the Pacific Northwest and earned their first road win all season by defeating the Seattle Sounders FC 1-0 on Wednesday night.
Quakes forward Jeremy Ebobiss scored early in the second half, and San Jose was able to hold off the Sounders and claim a full three points on the road.
“We earned this opportunity to get better,” explained San Jose Quakes coach Luchi Gonzalez. “They showed it tonight, and I’m really proud of them.”
Keeper Daniel was outstanding for San Jose with eight saves in the game in his first start. “Daniel was really important for us tonight, and we’re really proud of him,” noted Gonzalez.
