After completing a successful NISA Invitational tournament, Bay Cities FC took the first steps to build their roster for their inaugural season by naming Eric Bucchere as their Sporting Director.
Bucchere is well known throughout the SF Bay Area for creating opportunities for young soccer talent to pursue a professional soccer career through his Path 2 Pro agency and its annual combine showcase. He also has a distinguished career as an assistant coach at former USL club Reno 1868, and the head coach for USL PDL Burlingame Dragons during their most successful period.
“Having someone of Eric’s background and expertise join our project is a huge win for us,” said Anders Perez, co-founder, and president of Bay Cities F.C. “From his time at these other clubs, and from his work at Path2Pro, Eric has developed a keen eye for talent. He is passionate about giving young players opportunities and is aligned with our vision of identifying the right talent to represent our brand of football. We cannot wait to see his work show on the field.”
“I’m thrilled to be a part of this new and exciting project in the Bay Area,” said Bucchere in the clubs’ announcement. “To get the opportunity to help build the first-ever professional rosters for the Men’s & Women’s teams at Bay Cities F.C. is a true honor. I’m looking forward to seeing the impact this club will have on the field and in the community,” said Bucchere.”
Bay Cities FC will start play in the third division National Independent Soccer Association starting in the Spring of 2022. They will play their home games in Redwood City.
