San Jose Earthquakes star rookie Cade Cowell has been called up to the United States Men’s National Team to help fill out the roster as it competes in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Cowell, only 17-years-old, has trained with the national team, has had a strong start in his first year as a pro player for the Earthquakes.
This season he has scored four goals and added four assists already.
Although Cowell will be training with the first team, he hasn’t been officially named yet to the National team roster. The USA are currently in Dallas, Texas preparing for their quarterfinal match against Jamaica.
Cowell was one of two players called into the team after the injury of defender Walker Zimmerman in the USMNT’s win over Canada 1-0 on Sunday.
