In a battle between the two clubs at the top of the table in the NSL Pacific Division, Atletico East Bay vaulted into the top spot with a 4-3 victory over the Oakland Stompers. The Stompers’ goals were scored by Edgar Castaneda, Nissa Hatifie, and Miguel Santiago. On Saturday, Atletico will face the challenge of traveling north to take on third place Vallejo Omega FC, which earned a point in a 2-2 draw vs. NorCal Rush last weekend.
San Pablo FC continued its gradual rise up the table with a 3-1 win over Dahlak FC. The win enabled them to move into fourth place, ahead of their local rival Richmond SOL FC. The SOL appeared to be on its way to three points until Stockton TLJ FC scored in the third minute of stoppage time to earn a 2-2 draw.
In other matches, American Canyon Rising beat Salinas Soccer Academy 7-2, while Real San Jose beat San Leandro United 1-0. San Leandro sits in the bottom spot of the table, even though they’ve only surrendered 9 goals in 6 matches this season.
