In a game that could only be described as a physical duel between the top two teams in the league, the Deltas earned a hard-fought scoreless draw against the Armada on Saturday night in Jacksonville.
From the onset of the match, it appeared as if the Armada were determined to dish out hard tackles and fouls to control the match. The Deltas however won the majority of the duels and 92.9-percent of their tackles.
San Francisco controlled the midfield and kept high pressure on Jacksonville’s backline. The Armada was forced to attempt long balls over the top to score.
The Deltas outshot Jacksonville 8-5 but never seriously threatened to put a goal into the net. The Armada had two dangerous chances late that was saved by San Francisco keeper Romuald Peiser.
With the result, the Deltas remain undefeated in second place in the NASL spring season with one win and two draws.
